1. a complete gathering.
This word for gathering or assembling is a complete gathering. It is a noun. It is used many other places as a verb. You often hear people say, "God commands you to not forsake the assembling of the church" and in that way this word is a noun. Many preachers I've heard that use this say we are not to neglect (verb) "going to church on Sunday"(verb). And then they make some statement about keeping the Sabbath day holy and the Sabbath day isn't Sunday but Saturday. So then you get so many people that are feeling manipulated by people running church buildings that they turn away and don't give Jesus a chance because the things many Christians teach are dangerous due to scripture twisting.
This verse in Hebrews is often used to shame or guilt Christians into "going to church". It is clear to me anyway that Hebrews
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
2 Thessalonians 2:1 KJV
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
