What do you say to modern day believers that also believe that because God told the Hebrews in the Old Covenant to not eat pork for example or shellfish that we are not supposed to either?  Can they be reasoned with or do we just let them continue and allow the Holy Spirit to work in their lives? I believe we give the truth where we can but as Romans 14 describes if someone thinks they should not do something because it would be a sin to them then it is sin.  So it seems we correct where we can in love but not at the expense of causing a division.  If you don't want to eat pork because of what Leviticus has to say about pork and shellfish then I'm not going to argue with you.  But the word of God does shed much light on this matter and if you understand this it helps to understand what the New Covenant really is and how people were always saved by faith not works. When people are looking to find what it is that saves them they often here vague statements like, "you just need to surrender to Jesus" OR "just give your life to Jesus" OR "Invite Jesus into your heart". All of those are cliches made up by man to describe their feeling about what it is to be a Christian.  But we must go to the Word of God to find out what it takes to be saved and what it means to be saved.  This will lead you to see the difference between justification and sanctification which are two  topics most Christians are utterly confused about. Referring to God and His love and describing His love with a word that means: without thinking or caring about the consequences of an action does not describe the actions of the God of the bible.  If we try to justify this descriptor for God's love by saying that the song's reference to God's "Reckless love" that it is not God's love but our perception of God's love from the human point of view raises two problems that are not in line with His word.   One, that God does things without consideration or care for people.
