Referring to God and His love and describing His love with a word that means: without thinking or caring about the consequences of an action does not describe the actions of the God of the bible.
If we try to justify this descriptor for God's love by saying that the song's reference to God's "Reckless love" that it is not God's love but our perception of God's love from the human point of view raises two problems that are not in line with His word.
One, that God does things without consideration or care for people. He does not and if so that would be the opposite of love. That also indicates that someone doesn't believe God knows the end from the beginning.
Two, that God 's love is to be defined and is what we think it is. God's attributes are set and unchangeable. Man exalting his opinion over what God's word describes is to create a god in our own mind. When we do that and worship that god then we are in idolatry. Many people that love this song I've seen are at times it seems following another gospel, and another spirit, and following and hearing from another Jesus. God does nothing that is reckless. And we do not have the liberty to make things up to justify words that are descriptors that should be more closely associated with Satan rather than God.
A great deception is in the works and this song to me is just one more piece of evidence to that fact. Where is the love of the truth in people that justify whatever it is they like?
2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 KJV
Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Hebrews 13:8 KJV
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
