How To Pray For Changes In Your Life Every Night Before Bed and In Your Dreams

Go to 25:45 in the video for quick instructions:

Judging Without Being Judgmental

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. A judgmental spirit is different than a person that judges rightly. Consider these things: 1. Is it your business to judge in this situation? We aren't qualified to be the judge but we are to discern at times. The Tree of Life was in the midst of the garden.  The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil was not something for man.  Only God knows Good and Evil.  So man was not made to judge. Jesus said something like, "Who made me your judge" somewhere in the scripture.  Look that up. If we judge those in the church as a tare then we may root out the wheat with the tares.  So that is not for us to do either. 1 Thessalonians 4:11 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; 2. Does the judging administer life? Pharaseas had a s...

How To Stop Being Negative and Judgmental - A biblical perspective

In the world when we hear someone say, "Don't judge me" the person saying it is typically not referring to what judgment Jesus was referring to when he said not to judge or rather if we judge we will be judged.  There are so many biblical truths in that statement that I'll only address a couple.  But we must identify what judgment is and there are differing kinds of judgments.  The bible says we should judge and in most cases this is referring to discerning things based upon what we witness in another person's life. But I'm going to touch on the kind of judgment we cannot do but most people do and it causes great harm.  The kind of judgment where we say someone did something and also and here is the danger where we assign a motive to why someone did something.  Because when we claim we know something that we cannot for certain know we are putting ourselves in a dangerous position of acting as if we are God. Every time we do that it is not going to be good...

Biblical Words On Not Being Offended

Psalms 75:7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. Proverbs 19:11  The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression. Proverbs 27:5-6  Open rebuke is better than secret love. 6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. James 1:19-20  Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: 20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. 2 Timothy 2:24  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, Romans 12:17-21 17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the L...

How to Not Be Offended

2 Timothy 2:22-26 22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. How can we not be offended?  That is a tough question to answer when you are in the midst of a conflict with anyone.  Maybe there is unforgiveness or there is rebellion in your life and you think too highly of yourself.  Or maybe you think it is ok to not forgive someone when they do something against you even if they have admitted the offense and asked for forgiveness.  Perhaps yo...

You Can't Solve Problems By Passing Judgments

You Can't Solve Problems By Passing Judgments  Jesus said, what does the scripture say and how do you read it? We always defend why we are right. In misunderstandings we over explain things because of our ego. We want to be understood more than to understand. We want to be understand so much that we try to prove to the person that our judgments are right and get the other person to agree with our judgments. We want to try and make you believe that the reason we think you are doing something is the reason you think you are doing something. It is a maddening kind of fighting that goes in endless circles and nothing ever gets solved. Person A: Wants person B to understand why they think their judgment is correct. But if person A would understand person B more then they might not have those judgments in the first place. If you make it too difficult for people to talk to you people are going to stop talking to you. If you make it too difficult for people to ask yo...

Freedom From The Slavery of Self-Judgment And Wrongly Judging Others Motives

Freedom From The Slavery of Self-Judgment And Wrongly Judging Others Motives 1 Corinthians 4:3-6 KJV But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self. For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.

Dwell Is Used Many Times in the Bible

One of the Greek words for dwell is:  μένω meno (me'-nō) v. 1. to remain. 2. (in a place) to abide, to stay. 3. (of expectancy) to await. 4. (in a state) to continue. 5. (in a task) to endure. 6. (of a relationship) to exist permanently in, inseparably united (inhere, adhere). Revelation 2:13  I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth. Revelation 3:10  Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Revelation 6:10  And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? Revelation 8:13  And I beheld, and heard an angel flying th...

Believing God

Do you believe God? Philippians 4:19-20 KJV But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. If you believe that then why do you sin to get any of your needs met? Satan wants to tempt you into sin. When someone wants to debate with you about sin then you can use the word of God and not your opinion. Satan uses deception.  Jesus said Satan is a deceiver. Satan knows when we are vulnerable and Satan wants to divide us.  Division, unbelief and distrust is what Satan brings. Jesus brings peace and joy and truth and harmony. If this is the word of God then is it true or is it not?

The Battle for Self Control

You cannot be happy as a believer if you are not living as God wants you to live. If you live disobediently against God then you will suffer the consequences. Galatians 5:22-23 KJV 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Desires that control us: Desires for... Victory In Jesus Over Anxiety

Philippians 4:4-7 KJV Phil 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Phil 4:5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Phil 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Phil 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Anxiety is a faith battle and God wants you to be free of anxiety.  If you are having anxiety you must admit it and submit it to God.  Give it to Jesus and trust Him and thank Him that you can bring this to Him and you know He has promised to help.   Come in prayer, and in a thankful spirit and let Him know what you need and trust Him to give you peace and release you from that.

Yoke Up With The Lord Jesus

Matthew 11:28-30 KJV Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

John Van Gelderen On Discerning Between A Counterfeit Holy Spirit and The Holy Spirit

Credit goes to John Van Gelderen an evangelist that attempts to show Baptists not to forget about the Holy Spirit and how He ministers and leads us in this life as a believer through faith. In this series on spiritual guidance, we have noted that the Spirit of God does lead individuals and have addressed how the Spirit leads. But knowing that Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light, how can we discern the true from the false? Recognizing the genuine is vital to discerning the counterfeit, and thus, noting the ways of the Spirit in genuine guidance will help us discern the ways of the enemy in counterfeit guidance. Leading The Holy Spirit leads. Evil spirits push. The New Testament describes those who are “led” by the Spirit (Rom. 8:14: Gal. 5:18). Therefore, guidance that drives, pushes, or even nags like a bug buzzing in your ear is counterfeit. Though the Spirit can speak with urgency, the push of counterfeit guidance does not allow time to “try the spirits whether they...

Is It Possible To Leave The Faith?

Simply because the bible speaks to an apostasy in the end times leads me to think that it is possible for a person of their own free will to turn from the truth and believe things that are contrary to the truth of the gospel.  Knowing that we are justified not by good works we do or by not sinning, but rather by the blood of Jesus Christ offered up for our sins willingly by Jesus Christ to pay for the sins of the entire world.  Anyone that believes God sent Jesus and that Jesus died for our sins will be justified and righteous in Jesus Christ.  More thoughts to come on this....

The Heritage of Wicked Oppressors

Job 27:13-23 KJV  13 This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty. 14 If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread. 15 Th ose that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep. 16 Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay; 17 He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver. 18 He buildeth his house as a moth, and as a booth that the keeper maketh. 19 The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he is not. 20 Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night. 21 The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him out of his place. 22 For God shall cast upon him, and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand. 23 Men shall clap their hands at him, and ...

Frustration With Deceived Prideful People That Believe They Are Special Christians

As of late I've been more frustrated with people I encounter that I know have been deceived.  I've spoken with a few about these deceptions I believe they have fallen into and I've done it in a caring way.  The truth in love is the way we have to deliver this kind of reproof. In two out of the three times I've done this recently to people that I've known for a long enough period of time, two completely rejected the possibility that they could be deceived. Hitler said something once like, "it is easier to make someone believe a lie than to convince someone they have been deceived." I find that this is true for most.  Pride gets in the way.  Not having a love of the truth gets in the way.  Being spiritually blind gets in the way. When Jesus was speaking to Nicodemus about being born again Jesus said in John 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? My wife is an expert...

Proverbs 9:9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. Who Is A Fool?

77 verses directly talking about what fools do and who they are in the book of Proverbs: Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? Proverbs 1:32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. Proverbs 3:35 The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools. Proverbs 7:22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; Proverbs 8:5 O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart. When We Forgive We Should Not Remember The Offense Again

Forgiveness is a wonderful thing if you have received it.  It is also a great thing if you have truly forgiven someone. Forgiveness between a man and a wife is critical because without it we only gather up offense and more offenses until we can no longer bare being with that one we have been so offended by and the other will feel more and more unforgiven. It is impossible to have reconciliation without forgiveness. When we forgive and remember the offense again we must repent and forgive again.  Unforgiveness destroys relationships. Consider this parable: Matthew 18:21-35 KJV Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? 22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. 23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. 24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed...

Distraction Deception Division and Destruction Part 1

Satan is coming after you Christian and this is a way he does it many times: The power of darkness uses a formula against all people to destroy them. The end goal is to kill, steal and destroy. Distraction Deception Division Destruction Distraction and Dealing With It 1 Corinthians 7:35  And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction. Mark 4:19  And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. 1 Corinthians 10:13  There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. Romans 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of...

Breaking Strongholds and Getting Deliverance from Addictions

Joshua 1:9  Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. James 4:7-8  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Hebrews 12:1-3 KJV Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. 1 Corinthians 2:12-16 K...
