As we are in the last days and each day draws us closer to the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, I see doctrines of devils which are in polar opposition to each other or at least on the surface that is what it seems to be. For example when you look at the Hyper Grace "Revolution" teachers of today and compare them to Dominion Now/Word of Faith NAR New Apostolic Reformation teachers such as Bill Johnson and pretty much anyone at Bethel Redding you may find interesting common ground.
The Hyper Grace movement generally speaking is a do nothing movement. They may see that the Dominion Now people typically state they believe in justification by faith, but many of those people believe that if you are in sin then you aren't saved. It is a false teaching of a lack of security in justification that makes one become a believer in a works based righteousness.
How These Two Groups Are Similar:
1. Intermingling Justification and Sanctification
Improperly understanding the difference between Justification and Sanctification leads to much confusion. Statements of certain truth made without biblical support but rather just opinions is common among both of these spiritually blinded groups.
2. Belief in a Coming Great Revival/Awakening
3. New Age thought intermingled into the gospel and life after becoming a believer.
4. Relying upon experience rather than the truth in the word.
5. Heaping up teachers and reading only books on the people that approve of the same kind of twisting of scripture they adhere to.
6. Revelation knowledge from "God" or "the lord" trumps what the Word of God says
7. Using phraseology that is new and vague and not being clear on what is meant.
Underlying Beliefs Common Traits in one or Both False Movements:
Sinless Perfection
Keswick Higher Life Doctrine
Finished Work Doctrine
Perfectionism Theology (Hannah Whitall Smith) (look at the fruit of her life)
Once Saved Always Saved Doctrine/Arguments
Necessity to Feel the Presence of God/Holy Spirit/Kingdom/Glory
No Need to Test the Spirits
Mocking of Others that "Don't Get It"
Unapologetic
Defensive
Double Minded
Full of Strife
Lacks Demonstrated Grace In Difficult Times
Everything feels staged
Vague Phraseology:
Common to Hyper Grace
"It is finished"
"No More Do Do Religion"
"Grace Did It All"
"Grace is not something you learned about in Sunday School, Grace is a person and his name is Jesus"
"Believer, you ARE Sanctified..It is Finished"
"Jesus was talking to the Jews only"
"If you get a hold of this gospel of grace it will rock you"
"I'm just going to preach one word and that word is Grace"
Common to Dominion Now/NAR/Bethel Redding/Word of Faith
"I declare and decree"
"I am god"
"Living the Ascended Life"
"Bring Heaven Down To Earth"
"Experiencing the Culture of Heaven"
"So and so doesn't sin"
"The Lord told me.."
"The bible talks about people that are perfected"
"No David Hogan is not of the devil; if he was then why would Bill Johnson or Curry Blake let him teach or preach in their churches. I'm sure they would have noticed and addressed it."
