Turning Away from Bids for Attention from Your Spouse?
What research indicates:
If you turn away from your partner more than you turn to your partner in these moments you will either build up a bond or break one down.  If your spouse wants too much of your time then that is another issue that should be addressed.

Why do some people have happy marriages and others have a living nightmare? Invest in your spouse and grow in your connection.  Accepting a bid for time and attention from your spouse  more than turning away from them in these times will increase your shared "emotional bank account" according to Gottman Institute research.  Their research concludes that without this kind of behavior couples grow apart.  But with the positive turning to behaviors outweighing the turning away then a couple should expect to feel happy in marriage together.  Seems simple but it is the little things that make up our lives.
