What do you say to modern day believers that also believe that because God told the Hebrews in the Old Covenant to not eat pork for example or shellfish that we are not supposed to either?  Can they be reasoned with or do we just let them continue and allow the Holy Spirit to work in their lives? Referring to God and His love and describing His love with a word that means: without thinking or caring about the consequences of an action does not describe the actions of the God of the bible.  If we try to justify this descriptor for God's love by saying that the song's reference to God's "Reckless love" that it is not God's love but our perception of God's love from the human point of view raises two problems that are not in line with His word.   One, that God does things without consideration or care for people.
